Today was my first day on the trail. Since it was a short hiking day, I decided to go paragliding in the early morning and then hike to Les Houches afterward.
I felt very comfortable during the paragliding flight, and at one point, the instructor asked if I wanted him to try some moves. He pulled a 1G stunt—that was definitely the highlight of the day!
Afterwards, I took the cable car up to Planpraz and hiked up to Brévent. The view of Mont Blanc was absolutely clear, with not a single cloud in the sky. People told me the views would only get better as I continued hiking—I couldn’t wait!
From there, it was nearly 5,000 feet of descent, with a few sections where I had to hold on to chains for safety. I stayed at RockyPop, and I loved this place—super fun and comfortable!
First time to try out paragliding (Parapente) and I totally loved this new sport!
View from Rocky Pop dining place.
As close to Mont Blanc as I can get!
Some sections of this trail that needed to hold on to the chain!
View from my hotel - Rocky Pop. It is a very cool hotel and the food was great!
I created my own map using Caltopo map and upload the GPX file to my Garmin Fenix 5x. It worked really well.
