There was no variant in this section as I crossed into Switzerland. I could not believe within one week, I witnessed two TMB races: UTMB and Gravel TMB. I recorded the footage of the leader of the race at Grand Col Ferret (see below). I was told by the race photographer that the first finisher would be done in 12 hours. The weather was perfect since again It rained last night so this was becoming a daily pattern. You wished the rain happened in the late afternoon after you are done with your hike and gave you a chance of clear sky next day. I had the best hot chocolate in my life at Refuge Elena. Somehow Italian knew how to make good coffee, pizza and hot chocolate! I stayed at Gite de la Fouly running by Swiss couple. This place was so clean. They renovated in 2021 and I loved the coziness of this place. The food was great. I met three French engineer and they spoke perfect English. They said that proficiency in English was part of the requirement to be in engineering field. I also met an American runner that packed very light and did not have any reservation in advance. Somehow she managed to get a place to stay for the night. I would not take that risk!
