Contrary to popular opinion that often labels this section of the TMB as 'boring,' I found it to be a wonderfully relaxing change of pace. While it may not boast the dramatic, spectacular mountain vistas of other segments, it certainly possessed its own distinct charms. I was particularly captivated by the small villages, seemingly untouched by centuries of time, offering a glimpse into a timeless way of life. A delightful surprise awaited within the forest sections, where I discovered intricate wood carvings of various animals on dead trees – a truly unique and unexpected artistic touch. The initial eight miles offered a welcome downhill stroll, followed by a manageable 1000-foot climb, culminating in the arrival at the charming lakeside town of Lac Champex.Â
I created my own map using Caltopo map and upload the GPX file to my Garmin Fenix 5x. It worked really well. V standards for variant which is harder but the view is awesome. The weather was so great. I was able to do all variants.Â
